Piracy truth or lies on TV prescreeners

It is getting harder to tell the truth from the lies when it comes to piracy, and TV Week.com has their hands deep in the pot when it comes to understanding bits and pieces of Bittorrent, the drive to raise buzz, and admissions from insiders that they have been the ones that uploaded the tv show prescreeners onto the Bittorrent networks.

First TVWeek whines about the number of pre air TV shows have shown up on the Bittorrent networks. They go on to state here that as a result of this that piracy cost a lot of money, and to reduce piracy, we need more technology blocks and other ways of stopping copyrighted content from being on the networks.

The networks have got to start looking at their own people first, because they are being the major source of leaks, pushing daisies was leaked by an insider, the new Dr. Who, leaked by an insider. The whole process is being fed by the networks, and they wonder why piracy is such a big issue.

It does not help when a news channel decides to not really research a story and parrots the party line. We are hugely disappointed in TVWeek, and really think they need to step up to the plate, take a look at the realities of the business, and really take a look at what is happening with piracy, television, Bittorrent, p2p networks, and other ways that the system is being used by big media to promote big media and build marketing buzz.

The very system that big media is trying to kill, is the very system that big media is using to promote their products. Busting someone and fining them thousands of dollars for material they released, that is just not feasible.
